Elizabeth is out of the paralytic state and her organs seems to be functioning.  She is responsive to touch.  She is still critical.  There is not a quick fix to this situation.  It is going to be a very long process so continue to pray.

Elizabeth is no longer under heavy sedation, but is still sedated enough that she is in “La la land”, her nurse said. She had her eyes open. I talked to her and touched her and was glad to see that she was somewhat responsive. She cannot talk because of the intubation and ventilator.

Still no visitors please. E’s blood pressure is high and they want to avoid excitement.

Nurse said they are slowly weaning her from the ventilator, but with a lot of caution. She still has a lot of bacteria in her lungs. There is no way of knowing a timeline about this as yet. Days, weeks – not sure.

But I was glad to see her conscious and hear that they had been able to reduce the ventilation somewhat.

I just spoke to Marilyn and she said Elizabeth is off the ventilator.  Prayers are answered, but please continue to pray.   She is still in ICU, but it is looking GOOD!

For those who may not have heard, Coach Massengale passed away yesterday.  Arrangements are incomplete through Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

Coach Lendell Massengale, age 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, January 23, 2017, at Scott United Methodist Church. Dr. Robin Kimbrough will be eulogist. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Sunday from 5-7 at the funeral home, and again Monday 11 AM until time of service at the church.

Coach was still Coach Massengale years after his retirement. He was always a joy to see and seemed to love retirement when I would see him at the office. So sorry for the family's loss.

She is at home and getting much better but I am sure prayers will continue to help. I pray for a speedy recovery and getting back to her old self.

Dear Friends,
As you know, I’ve been very ill since Al’s death on Dec. 27th. I am home from the hospital and improving but it will take time to regain my strength. Friends have been very generous helping me with errands, house projects, visits and just being there.  The cards, letters, calls, and Facebook posts have really touched me and meant so much.  I look forward to talking and visiting with each one of you as I get stronger.  

For the next week or so I feel I need a little help every day so if you can volunteer a few hours, please let me know what would work for you.
