Mr. Henry Lee “Butch” Arnold, 66, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Gray will officiate, with burial to follow in Horse Mountain Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at the funeral home.

He was born October 19, 1953, in Shelbyville, to the late Henry Anderson Arnold and Frances Sue Gregory Reid. He was an instructor at Tennessee College of Applied Technology for 25 years. He was a teacher to many young people in the field of industrial maintenance and electricity, enabling them to become an asset in their respective fields of employment. As a mentor, he assisted a lot of people in coping with the challenges that confronted them in daily life. He also coached soccer and softball, and was instrumental in helping many young girls grow and mature into young adults who make a contribution in the world today.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Arnold Buchanan, of Shelbyville, Chelsea Arnold, and her fiancée, Beth Hudson, of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Cortney Wolf, and her husband Zack, of Bell Buckle; a sister, Barbara Reed, and her husband Mike, and a brother, Tim Arnold, all of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Kassidy Buchanan, Elijah Wolf, Alyssa Wolf, and Gavin Wolf.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.

I remember in junior high he did not want to be called Henry! I recall too that he would be in fights sometimes, but he always had this very unique smile. That smile always made me think there was a lot more going on there, than him just being “Butch”. I see from  the obituary that I was right.
